Michael E. Atwood, Jr.

Active in real estate and appraising since a teenage with family investments and appraising since 2002

While in high school, Michael was active in management of family investments and has over twenty years in this area. Upon leaving college, he started a landscaping and tree business which was active for five years with jobs ranging from small homeowners to larger landscaping projects with many projects involving storm damages and estimates and working with insurance companies and property owners.
Upon moving back to the Dallas area, Michael once again joined with the family business and became active in the real estate business and now has over twenty years of general real estate experience and over ten years in appraising and consulting with clients for many types of properties including residential, multi-family, smaller retail centers, office buildings, land (including large agricultural tracts of several thousand acres to small weekend hobby farms and subdivisions), to carwashes, houses of worship (churches), automobile dealerships, and an extensive background in condemnation assignments for both government entities and individuals.

Graduated from Waxahachie High School
Southwest Texas Statin in San Marcos (now named Texas State University) - studied in Finance and Cartography.

Certified appraiser with experience in both residential and commercial assignments, including FHA certification. Types of properties: residential, land, subdivisions, medical facilities, houses of worship, income producing properties such as shopping centers, retail facilities, self-storage, office buildings, hotels, and apartments.

Responsibilities:
Assess or analyze risk reviewing BPO's and appraisals, including loan organization, REO, Loss Mitigation purposes and pre-foreclosure as a member of servicing team. Most recently a Senior Reviewer on the Forensic Review Team with responsibilities that included mortgage repurchase and rescission assignments. Also tasked with EPD reviews, bank audits, QA reviews, value appeals, and fraud related and other one-off reviews. I was most recently the appraisal liaison for value related repurchase issues with Fannie Mae and have completed several Impasse calls.
